# What happens to credits when upgrading a credits package?

### Upgrading Your Credit Package

You can upgrade your credit package at any time. Your new package takes effect immediately, and your billing cycle does not change.

To keep the process fair and transparent, ReachBoost always allocates every credit you've paid for. Credits are valid for **60 days** from the date they are allocated.

Credits are always released **monthly**, regardless of whether you're on a monthly, quarterly, or annual subscription. For example, if your annual plan includes **250 credits per month**, you'll receive **250 credits each month**, not all credits upfront.

### How Credit Allocation Works

When you upgrade, ReachBoost immediately allocates the credits from your new package. Future monthly credit releases continue on your existing credit allocation schedule.

### Monthly Subscriptions

For monthly subscriptions, upgrading is straightforward.

**Step 1 - Upgrade your package**
Upgrade to a larger credit package at any time.

**Step 2 - Receive your new credits**
Your new package's monthly credits are allocated immediately.

**Step 3 - Continue your normal billing cycle**
On your next renewal date, you'll receive another monthly allocation based on your upgraded package.

### Quarterly Subscriptions

Quarterly subscriptions still receive credits on a monthly schedule.
For example, if you start a quarterly subscription on **15 January**, your credits are allocated on:
* 15 January
* 15 February
* 15 March

If you upgrade during the quarter, ReachBoost immediately allocates the credits for your new package while still ensuring you receive every credit you've already paid for.

#### Example

You start with **250 credits per month** and upgrade to **1,000 credits per month** on **2 February**.
Your credit allocations would look like this:

| Date        | Credits Allocated |
| ----------- | ----------------- |
| 15 January  | 250               |
| 2 February  | 1,000             |
| 15 February | 1,250             |
| 15 March    | 1,250             |
| 15 April    | 1,000             |

In this example, the allocations on **15 February** and **15 March** include:
* **1,000 credits** from your upgraded package.
* **250 credits** that were still owed from your original quarterly purchase.

Once the original quarterly package has been fully allocated, only your upgraded package continues.

### Annual Subscriptions

Annual subscriptions follow the same principle as quarterly subscriptions.
Credits are still allocated monthly, and upgrading immediately releases the monthly credits from your new package while preserving any remaining credit allocations from your original annual purchase.
This means you'll continue receiving all credits you've already paid for, alongside the credits from your upgraded package, until the original package has been fully allocated.

**Note:** Upgrading your credit package **does not** change your billing date or subscription renewal schedule. Only your monthly credit allocations change immediately after the upgrade.
